
Patrick Tolani
Patrick’s current role is as the Director of Oxfordshire Equality and Human Rights Council, where he is working towards greater equality and justice for all and promoting good relations between different ethnic groups through partnerships. He has led the development of our work on equality, diversity and human rights as well as strengthening the communities. Patrick has brought nearly 20 years post graduation experience into this role.
Prior to this, Patrick worked under the Capacity Building Support Programme of the UNDP as the Principal Advisor for Trade and Commerce in the Directorate for Commerce, Ministry of Development, Government of Timor-Leste. Within this role, Patrick provided capacity building assistance to government departments in a post-conflict development phase. In addition, Patrick has also worked as Legal Advisor (Internship) at the Secretariat of the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) in Brussels, where he had a stint with economic partnership agreement negotiations at the highest level. In addition, Patrick has also assisted his country, Nigeria, as an external consultant to the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission.Patrick holds three master degrees in Law (International Economic Law) with a distinction and best graduating student award; Industrial and Labour Relations; and Public Administration (Specializing in Policy Studies).
He undertook a course at the University of Cambridge – Postgraduate Certificate in Cross-Sector Partnerships. He was enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor with the Supreme Court of Nigeria 18 years ago and he is working on his transfer to the Law Society of England and Wales. Patrick lives locally in Oxford and he is the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Citizens Advice Bureau. He pastors a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Christ’s Love Assembly) based in Barton, Oxford. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Pastors’ Forum in Oxford. Patrick is also a member of the College Council of Ruskin College in Oxford. Regionally, Patrick is the Vice Chair for UNI Network – a regional black minority ethnic (BME) network representing the geographical areas in the South East. He is currently the Chair of the Steering Committee for the management of UNI’s Big Lottery Funded StepUp Project. He also served on the Equalities and Diversity Advisory Group of RAISE (Regional Action and Involvement South East). Patrick is currently undergoing a training programme organized by the National Council for Voluntary Organizations (NCVO) in London with a view to becoming a “BME Strategy Champion”.
Dr Jolanta Babiuch-Luxmoore
Dr Jolanta Babiuch-Luxmoore is Fundraising and Project Development Officer for the Oxfordshire Racial Equality Council. She also works as an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.
She previously taught at the Institute of Sociology of Warsaw University in Poland, as well as at the University of London, where she held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship before lecturing in Social Theory, Management and Organisational Studies.
She was the elected founder-chairperson of Transparency International in Poland, as well as serving on the Berlin-based organisation's International Research Council, and has published numerous academic and press articles, as well as several books in the field of sociology, business ethics and religious studies.
She was awarded PhD in Sociology at Warsaw University and also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Oxford Brookes.
Ritu Kapoor
Ritu is the former and successful Interim Director for OEHRC (formerly OREC) that secured funding for the Integration Project and other creative endeavours.
Since leaving the post Ritu has been working as Equality Adviser for OEHRC as well as a consultant.
We hope she will continue to be associated with OEHRC in the future.
Aggie Kalungu-Banda
Aggie Kalungu-Banda is the Outreach and Marketing Development Officer for Oxfordshire Racial Equality Council.
Before joining OREC Aggie was a freelance consultant focusing on three main areas, namely, brokering cross sector partnerships for sustainable development, facilitating processes for reflecting on leadership issues and creating awareness and building organisations capacities in identifying and responding to gender issues.Earlier, Aggie worked as Public Affairs Manager for YWCA England and Wales. Prior to this Aggie worked for Oxfam GB as Gender Adviser in the Humanitarian Department.
She also worked for Oxfam in Yemen and Kosovo as Programme Development Manager for Gender and Programme Manager for the Kosovo Women’s Initiative, respectively. Between 1998 and 2000, Aggie was the Executive Director of the Zambia National Women’s Lobby Group in Zambia. Aggie also headed the consultancy wing for Women for Change, an organisation dedicated to gender and development in Zambia. Before then she worked as Young Women’s Christian Association inaugural Coordinator for Zambia’s first Drop-In-Centre for abused women.
Aggie holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies and she is an associate of the Partnership Brokering Accreditation Scheme.
Tayo Owodunni
Tayo works with Uni, the South East England BME network, as a StepUp Project Network Coordinator for the Thames Valley, and is employed by Reading Council for Racial Equality (RCRE). He covers the following local areas: Oxfordshire, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Wokingham and Bracknell Forest.
Tayo's role is to support OREC and the other Uni Network members in the Thames Valley to build the capacity of frontline BME organisations, to strengthen local networks, and to influence local and sub-regional policymakers.
Tayo is mentored & supported by OREC. The project is kindly funded by the Big Lottery, and supported by Capacity Builders and the National Empowerment Project
Endah Trisnasari Paton
Endah Trisnasari Paton is an Administrator and Finance Officer for OREC since November 2008.
Endah was working as an administrator and a website designer for a company producing marble furniture before joining OREC.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and is a student member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
